LA VENTANA / SARGENTO

Just 40 minutes southeast of La Paz is the bay of La Ventana, a place on the Sea of Cortez. When you’re here, visit the neighboring towns of El Sargento and San Juan de los Planes.

On the horizon, check out the rocky terrain of Cerralvo Island. It is also known as Jacques Cousteau Island, after the French oceanographer who led expeditions in this area and called this region “the aquarium of the world.” The name of this city may be a reference to the open space between the islands.

The pristine beach and rock formations of La Ventana offer a calm and beautiful landscape for kitesurfing. Kite-related water sports are very popular due to the constant winds in this stunning resort area with several bars and hotels. Let the wind be your guide in this curved bay.
