La Paz, Baja California Sur (OEM-Informex) .- The real estate business in Baja California Sur registers in the last 16 months a growth of close to 30 percent compared to 2019, a phenomenon that the industry’s own businessmen consider as “Rare”, because this increase is recorded precisely during the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to the president of the Mexican Association of Real Estate Professionals (AMPI), the Baja California Sur delegation, Bruno Jiménez, this growth would be attributable in the first place to the success of the promotion led by tourism trusts and their own companies in the sector, and considering that Families from Mexico City, Guadalajara and other cities did not want to be locked up in an apartment during the pandemic, and they looked for where to pass the health emergency, with open spaces such as those offered by La Paz with its Malecón and its beaches; Most would have known this city before.
50% of those who acquired a property in this period were foreigners and the rest Mexican, with La Paz being the one with the highest growth, followed by Los Cabos, and highlighting the Todos Santos-Pescadero corridor with such high demand that it left developers no housing available; in this micro region, real estate growth was more than 40 percent.
